that was my life last weekend.  saturday was the sebastian bowl as we celebrated his 10th birthday with all his buddies.  here's seb's field of awesomeness:

 

 

it's hard to read in the picture but that's exactly what it says on the field "seb's field of awesomeness" as per the the birthday boy's request.  daddy worked really hard getting the field ready for the big game and we can't forget the end zones:

 

 

 

that's right THE NEW YORK JETS!  the boys played for a few hours and could have played all day & night if we let them.  oh, to have the energy of a ten year old....

and let's not forget what every football player should eat: pizza & cake.  i love the fact that sebastian wanted a homemade cake, which i'm happy to oblige, and chocolate inside and out was his preference. 

 

 

that was saturday.  sunday of course involved the XLVI super bowl and we' re proud of the ny giants.  but before i sat down to watch the game i made it to the alameda antique faire to hunt for some treasures.  i found some things for myself and i found some things for my business.  of course the main motivation for attending is the business aspect but i think i found more stuff for myself this trip.  i'll share some of my findings as i display them in my home.  speaking of flea markets this was also the weekend for the paris flea market in livermore.  if you're local and you've never been there, i highly recommend it.  it's a unique shopping experience and it only happens once per month on the first weekend (you can view the details on the website).  here's my little space:

so every year our school has something called "camp montair" where the kids get to spend a friday evening at school running around with their buddies having fun.  translation:  matt & i have a friday evening free without having to pay a sitter.  this year it was a couple of weeks ago when i was just starting to get sick so although we enjoyed some time out at our favorite wine bar where we ran into some friends i was not 100%.  we went home by 9:30 and chillaxed before matt picked up the kids at school.  this is what came home:

yes.  there's face painting.  and crazy hair dos.  not to mention the nail polish you can't see.  but the best part?  the never ending smiles.  i don't think they had any fun.  

good thing i know this guy is sweet & sensitive otherwise i might be a little bit scared.

on the other hand i'm already scared of this one so this just made me smile.  these two make me smile most of the time...and when i'm having one of those non-smiling moments i just have to remember these images to bring it all into perspective.

lexi's sleepover

so we finally, Finally had lexi's birthday sleepover.  yes, her birthday is in june and we had celebrated in idaho (remember this), but i had also promised her a sleepover with her montair bffs from kinder.  we didn't want to have it during the height of the summer 'cuz everyone's traveling and busy so we wanted to do it right berfore school started when everyone is back in town gearing up for back to school.  well end of summer came & went.  first day of school came & went.  i finally got our act together the 1st weekend in october when we got back from disney.

the deal is 5 little buddies invited so lexi makes 6.  sebi had the same deal-ie-o when he turned 6.  remember this.  anyway, it ended only being 5 little girls because of family commitments, but it was fun, Fun, FUN!!!  here's the gang.

i had set up activities & crafts to make sure the girls were entertained but they had fun simply running around the back yard with the soccer ball and playing tag and giggling... so between all that we played games and created a friendship necklace

and they decorated a frame where we inserted the above group picture. and they all had matching slippers to wear for the sleepover.  i had wanted to give them all pedis to go w/ their new slippers, but lexi did NOT want to do that and put her foot down (no pun intended) {wink}.

makes me a bit sad; she's all about jean shorts and sneakers (all tho the twinkle toes are cute & all); she no longer wants dresses & frills....  she's growing into another phase.  to me it seems more tweenesque aged things but then again each generation becomes more advanced.  she likes peace signs and bling and rainbows, which brings us to her birthday cake.  she wanted a confetti rainbow type of cake inside with a rainbow on top to match.  i did what i could....

that's a rainbow made of colored sprinkles on clouds of white frosting.  now, i don't consider myself a baker (love to cook, but i'm definitely an aspiring baker) but it's not bad if i do say so myself, right?.  the best part?  lexi absolutely loved it.  sebastian was impressed as well.  they both helped (ate batter, watched me decorate, and commented play by play...) but sebastian grasped how hard it was to lay all the sprinkles just so.  but at the end of the day (quite literally) all the girls knew is that it was CAKE!
