it all started with this.
one little bag. i say little but this is the big daddy, cuz...
i bought every size AND in multiples to fit all sized gifts.
how great are they? a total vision came together in my head to have these all around the tree christmas morning. the kids haven't seen them & this is just as much a surprise as what will be in them { good thing they don't read my blog}. and from there sprung the craziness...
next i found this sign and ornaments at target. lexi |miss M actually picked out the sign & it had a shiny red ribbon which i swapped out for kitchen twine.
here it is, hanging in the kitchen. the ornaments keep my champagne sparkling wine bottles company, which i gave you a peek here.
next i found this box at hobby lobby (where i also found the bags by the way on a much previous trip). it's perfect for keeping all the christmas cards from year to year. i like to sit and read the previous year's cards before i send ours. it's a great way to make sure you don't miss sending one to someone and feel connected to all your family & friends near & far (especially far).
and if you're going to have the bags you need the coordinating tags, right?. i'm not a matchy matchy person but i'm having a serious love affair w/ the chalkboard art thing. and i know it's not necessarily a new trend but i just love those bags. did i say that already?
i also bought this coordinating wrapping paper from the pta drive at school. the paper is double sided & the patterns | colors lend themselves to coordinate nicely with the chalkboard bags. coordinating the paper for the christmas tree is something i learned many years ago as a newly wed from my good friend martha stewart.
yup, that's chalkboard wrapping paper. i canNOT wait to use it. this all makes the wrapping more of a party than a chore.
after i took all the above pictures i found these. yes, it's an addiction and you all know the feeling. you lose track of what you buy.
this ribbon is perfect to use with the wrapping paper to tie it all together with the bags.
these tins are great for the gift cards under the tree or in the stockings but until christmas they can be little decorations here & there.
and these kitchen towels are perfect for all the holiday baking.
i'm also creating some chalkboard christmas art for the family room but more on that when i show my family room done in its entirety. i'm using some free printables but it's a work in progress at the moment; just thought i'd share a peek. i also shared my diy chalkboard banner here.
all becuase of a bag. you never know when or how inspiration will strike. i have a few more chalkboard ideas brewing in my head...
